Vacation / Holiday Mode in the User Web Interface

I’d like to request a simple Vacation / Holiday Mode feature in the existing user web interface used for email account management.

While Sieve filtering already provides the necessary backend functionality, configuring a vacation auto-reply or forwarding rule through the webmail Sieve interface is confusing for non-technical users. It requires working with conditional logic and selecting the correct filter list, which makes it effectively unusable for most regular users.

Since users already rely on this same interface for basic account management tasks such as password changes, 2FA setup, and application token generation, it would be much more intuitive to extend this familiar environment with a simple Vacation Mode configuration instead of exposing Sieve rules directly in webmail.

A dedicated Vacation Mode page would greatly simplify setup by providing a guided interface while generating and managing the appropriate Sieve rules in the background.

Suggested options:

  • Enable or disable Vacation Mode.
  • Configure an automatic reply message.
  • Set an end date or automatically disable Vacation Mode after a specified number of days.
  • Optionally forward incoming emails to another address while Vacation Mode is active.
  • Display the current status and expiration of the configured Vacation Mode.

This approach would significantly improve usability while fully reusing the existing Sieve filtering capabilities, requiring only a user-friendly interface layer.
