https://stalw.art/docs/category/import/ is Error 404
I now heard stalwart-cli 1.0.6 supports import from local Maildir. Generally would be nice to have a HowTo, as mail transfer sure is an issue on setup / moving from postfix or other MTAs. Users report they fallback to imap-sync (https://imapsync.lamiral.info/)…
I’ve now rsync’d the Maildirs to a local folder and hope to get this done with stalwart-cli.
I file this under Feature Ideas (vor 0.16+) though consider that an issue IMHO.
The import has been discontinued, not existing any more in stalwart-cli.
For anyone running into trouble using imapsync or other imap-to-imap transfer into stalwart:
As I had major (recreatable) problems trying to directly copy mails using imapsync or Thunderbird copy or move; it created the headers but the blobs (message body, attachments) got lost in the transfer, so the mail in stalwart was unusable. Here the workaround that did it for me.
I used Thunderbird and copied the mails to “Local Folder” (temporary folder there). Then I copied the mails to stalwart and stalwart created the mails including the blob. That did not work using “move”, I don’t know, nor understand (nor care any more) why, using copy this works.
